Homemade custard cream

Ingredients
  • 1L of milk
  • 6 Maria cookies
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Cornstarch (cornflour)
  • Vanilla bean
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 eggs
Preparation

Cook the milk with the vanilla branch, the cinnamon stick and the lemon rind without letting it boil. Remove the lemon rind and let it cool. Put in a large bowl, sugar (4 tablespoons), cornstarch (2 tablespoons) and egg yolks (4), mix everything well to form a compact dough. At this point, add the milk to the container and stir it until it is well dissolved.

Put a saucepan to heat and cook this mixture, stirring constantly until it thickens. Then put in the bottom of some bowls the Maria cookies, crushed, throw the custard on top and finally sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
